The Great American Yard Sale hosted by Mood Swings Salon & Skin Spa and Brand X Custom T-Shirts, to Benefit Local Organization, Tempe Community Action Agency
Tempe businesses team up to get rid of old items and meet the community while supporting a local non-profit
Tempe, AZ – January 11, 2011 – Mood Swings Salon & Skin Spa has teamed up with another Tempe business, Brand X Custom T-Shirts, to hold the first annual Great American Yard Sale in a downtown Tempe neighborhood. All profits earned by Mood Swings and Brand X will be donated to local, Tempe non-profit Tempe Community Action Agency (TCAA).
The Great American Yard sale will be held on Sunday, February 13th, 2011 from 9 am – 5 pm. It will be held at 1114 S. Wilson St. Tempe, AZ 85281 in the Mitchell Park Neighborhood (Wilson & University). Mood Swings will be selling several décor items (such as lights, chandeliers, cabinets, old furniture and mirrors) from their salon as they start a re-modeling process. This urban renewal includes altering lighting and fixtures with more environmentally friendly and sustainable materials. All sales from these items will go directly to TCAA. They will also be providing AVEDA value services to attendees including: hand massages, shoulder/neck/scalp massages, finishing touches to make up and Aveda sensory experiences. Any donations given for the services will be donated to TCAA.
Brand X will have a custom iron-on t-shirt station with shirts for $5 as well as a “draw your own t-shirt” (for kids) station for $8 a shirt. All proceeds will go to TCAA.
Other community members, aside from Mood Swings and Brand X employees will also be bringing items to sell at the Yard Sale. Ten percent of all of these items will go to TCAA.
If you don’t find a treasure at the Yard Sale to buy, they will also have raffle prizes and free giveaways to those who come. Mood Swings will be giving away a free Cut and Style (up to an $85 value), free 60 Minute Facial (valued at $90), and a free 60 Minute Massage (valued at $90). Brand X will be raffling several gift cards towards Custom T-Shirt Designs (valued at $25).
Free items being given away include $10 New Guest Gift Certificates to Mood Swings and AVEDA sample products.
Other local businesses are in the works to join Mood Swings and Brand X, including Canteen Modern Tequila Bar and Revolution Café, a bicycle coffee cart.
